Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2025
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Akiko ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Akiko. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.
2. Description of the service
Akiko is an email client that lets you connect and manage multiple Gmail and Google Workspace accounts from a single interface. The Service uses the Gmail API under Google's terms and your explicit OAuth authorization.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Akiko. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at security@akiko.email.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Akiko to send spam, phishing emails, or bulk unsolicited messages
- Attempt to access another user's account without authorization
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or transfer access to the Service
- Use automated means to access or use the Service beyond normal usage
5. Gmail API and Google services
Akiko's use of Google APIs is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy. Akiko's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to those policies, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can revoke Akiko's access to your Google account at any time from your Google account security settings. Revocation does not automatically delete your Akiko account data — contact us separately to request deletion.
6. AI features
Akiko's AI triage, summaries, and draft features process your email content to provide these capabilities. AI-generated content may be incorrect — always review before sending. You remain responsible for any email sent from your accounts using Akiko.
7. Subscription and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected. Prices are listed at akiko.email/pricing. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Paid plans include a 14-day trial period. No charge is made until the trial ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial at no cost.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice for serious violations.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. We will delete your account data within 30 days of termination, except where retention is required by law.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
AI-generated content (triage labels, summaries, drafts) is provided for convenience only. Akiko makes no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of AI output.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Akiko's total liability to you for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. In no event shall we be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Delaware.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
